VIRTUAL INTELLIGENT PRESENTATION (VIP) Emtex VIP is an open, industrial strength, output management solution that incorporates flexible print stream transformation, centralized resource management and output device independence. It frees users from proprietary print streams and printer vendors, allowing them to tailor a solution to meet their own output needs. The Emtex VIP architecture is established as the industry’s leading solution for production printing and production output management. At the heart of VIP is VIP Transform which handles Xerox, AFP and PostScript print streams and resources, converting these in real-time to drive a wide range of production printers, viewing and archiving systems plus output formats for use via the Internet.

Full Colour Transform Architecture
Any Document, Any Destination VIP Transform provides an extensive set of PDL transforms enabling any print job, of any size or any type to be routed and printed on any device within an organization (including electronic delivery methods). Real-Time Transformations Emtex VIP Transform is designed to process PDL’s in “real-time”. It is not necessary to receive the whole of the data stream before VIP starts processing. As soon as VIP Transform receives data, it is immediately transformed to the internal “virtual” format, enabling printing to start almost as soon as VIP Transform has received the first page of data. This enables production printing centres to achieve very tight “print windows”. Emtex VIP is the only solution available that offers this unique feature. Electronic Outputs With the grow in demand of electronic output format for Document Archiving and the Internet, VIP Transform outputs to Adobe PDF, TIFF and Anacomp IDS (microfiche) electronic document formats. With the VDE Web Delivery, customers can also output in XML to feed Internet Presentment Systems. Resolution Independence VIP Transform is able to handle 240dpi, 300dpi and 600dpi resources and provides resolution independence by converting them internally to 14400dpi. This enables VIP Transform to output to any device, regardless of resolution requirements, without loss of document fidelity. PSF Replacement Not only does VIP Transform handle all primary PDLs (AFPDS, LCDS and PostScript), it also has the ability to replace other solutions such as IBM’s PSF thus offering cost savings and greater flexibility to IBM mainframe environments. Full Colour Support VIP Transform supports full colours enabling organizations to exploit the latest advances in full Colour printing technology. VIP Transform is able to produce full colour for all output formats including full colour IPDS and IJPDS (Scitex format for VersaMark range of printers). |
